For Delta

The sensor hub is a ceiling-mounted smart device that blends machine learning with location and activity data to optimize space for living, working and industry.

The challenge was to combine an extensive array of sensors into a single, refined package.

Credit for the final product housing design goes to Designit in Denmark. Check them out. They kick serious ass.

Update: The Sensor Hub recently won the Innovation Award in building automation at AHR 2020 in Orlando.

Function inspires form. Machine learning, sensor fusion, and occupant interaction sparked 'Think. Sense. Speak.' The circular shape endeavoured to be soft, friendly and anthropomorphic.

RYŌAN-JI

I consider it to be an abstract composition of natural objects in space, a composition whose function is to incite meditation.

This was phase 1. It was rejected. At this early stage of the project there was a push for modularity to mediate function and cost. Eventually, a consolidation effort led to a single-housing approach.
